Rated 4 out of 5�by Gabe P Amazing System....Amazing Support I would give this system 5 stars but one camera was bad out of the box and I had grainy issues with another shortly after. The fix for the grain issue is to flash a light on the camera to reset it but i needed it replaced because it was happening too often. Support was awesome and have replaced both cameras very quickly. It is a little tricky to setup but luckily I am an I.T. guy so I got it going with minimal needs for tech support. I did need help with the email alerts because yahoo mail won't work but gmail will. The password maximum is 7 or 8 characters but wont tell you that you typed too much so I thought i set a long password but it only registered the first 7 or 8 characters so watch for that. I have mine setup to record non stop but also leave markers where motion is detected. The picture quality is amazing and the night vision is awesome. I have no light on the sides of my house and I can see all the way to the street. You do get alot of motion alerts for the movements of tree shadows with the wind but all motion cameras or motion alarms will do this. I remote in with the phone app but it does kill your battery so i force stop the app when Im not using it. I also use the Windows 7 app on my laptop to view the cameras and connect the laptop to my TV in the room so I can sleep with some peace of mind. Every time i hear a noise at night, the first thing i do is look at the tv that is showing all of my cameras. I will take some photos and upload them soon but this system is amazing. I have convinced two of my coworkers and a cousin to purchase this system. I ran all of my cables in the attic, drilled a hole in the wall stud and ran the cables behind the sheetrock, and mounted the dvr box behind my entertainment center so burglars won't have easy access to it if they break in. I also have the hdmi connected to my living room tv along with a mouse. I rarely use the remote that came with the system. Every time someone walks up to the cameras they snap a photo and email it to me. Well that and the squirrels too. BUY YOURSELF THIS SYSTEM. Don't let the two camera issues i had bother you. All electronic equipment from any manufacturer will have lemons especially when being delivered and handled by other companies but the customer support is what sets them all apart. These guys are great besides the usual 30 minute wait time when calling but they rock when they answer. March 11, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5�by JoeC Love the system but lacking web interface I just bought this system and love it. The configuration was a breeze and dvr is easy to navigate. I have it hidden in my basement so changing configurations is a pain as I have to run to my utility room. The only thing I wish this system had was a web interface so I could change settings from anywhere. Only being able to change settings is from the DVR's own interface is useless when you find out your child stays home from school and the motion sensor sends you emails all day long and you cant stop it. So far the video is excellent HD quality and viewing the recorded events from my phone is very nice. It would be good if the settings were saved on the mobile app. Each time I load it up I have to select the cameras to view. Also instead of Camera 1, 2 etc If the app also referred to the name I changed it to on the DVR that would make it easier to pick the right camera when searching the events. Still just one thing missing, please add a web interface........ I have setup in the past 4 cameras on my own at home in the last 20 years and have also been in charge of our camera systems at work. I'm also in charge of a 140 camera system and have somewhat a professional background. All had a web interface and I'm surprised this one doesn't. February 21, 2016

Analog HD (AHD) technology reduces cost by using the existing coaxial cable infrastructure. AHD puts an end to network issues and IP conflicts, and eliminates the need for an IT department to manage IP cameras. If you purchased a video security system in the past 10 years and want to seamlessly upgrade to HD, Night Owl’s AHD Series is your simple and cost-effective solution. (Note: Night Owl recommends using a minimum cable gauge of 24AWG cable for installation. Please test your existing cabling one at a time to ensure compatibility)

User video is never transmitted to our server nor any third party server, EVER. Once setup is complete, your cameras and smartphone operate as peer-to-peer devices.
Motion-Activated Recording with Push Notifications

Don't want to spend your time monitoring an empty room? No problem! Night Owl Security's motion detection allows the system to record only when necessary. You can even set the motion detection area of each individual camera to monitor certain areas. Receive a push notification directly to your Smart Device when motion is detected in the selected zone.
Multiple Viewing Options with Digital Zoom

Night Owl HD allows the user to create “favorite” screens and view multiple cameras from unlimited locations. Then, digitally zoom into any image during video playback directly from a Smart Device. For example, a business owner can view cash register activity in all four of their sites on one screen. Night Owl enables you to monitor your home and business simultaneously, without switching apps or devices. Talk about being connected!
No computer needed for Playback

Night Owl HD allows you to easily play back video from multiple cameras in one screen on your smart device. Plus, you have the ability to play back up to 6 months of video footage without ever having to touch the DVR again. Our intuitive smart app can even store the video or picture directly onto your smart device.
Backwards compatible with Analog Cameras

Night Owl’s unique AHD DVR technology is also backwards-compatible with existing analog cameras. Keep your original industry standard BNC connected analog cameras as is, and add on Night Owl’s AHD 720p cameras to your existing surveillance system by easily replacing the DVR.

(Please note that cameras must be installed in pairs. For example, channels 1 and 2 would operate with analog cameras, and channels 3 and 4 would operate with AHD 720p cameras.)
Night Owl Setup Wizard

Configuring your DVR for the first time is simple. Since every user requires a unique configuration for their security system, Night Owl provides a Setup Wizard. The Setup Wizard will automatically launch upon the initial startup of your DVR and will walk you through the process of setting up the DVR properly.
HDMI Connection to your TV or Monitor

The DVR easily connects to multiple TV’s or monitors with the convenience of two video outputs for instant viewing. The DVR is equipped with 1 VGA and 1 HDMI video output, creating broader coverage per square foot for homes and small businesses. The product includes a 6 foot HDMI cable.
1TB pre-installed Security HDD

This system records up to 1 year of video with its pre-installed 1TB security hard drive. If your needs change, you can always expand the system up to a 4TB internal SATA HDD. The hard drive was specifically designed for DVRs. It provides faster read/write times and reliable recording of your video security footage.
Indoor/Outdoor Night Vision HD Cameras

The AHD 720p cameras are equipped for night vision up to 100 feet, and auto IR cut filter sensors that produce a clear and crisp image day or night. All cameras are designed for use both indoor and outdoor, rain or shine, for an extra layer of safety and deterrence. If there’s something out of place at your home or business, it won’t escape the watchful eyes of this Night Owl Security System. That’s peace of mind, all the time.
Wide Viewing Angle

These 720p HD bullet cameras feature a 70˚ field of view over the standard 42˚ view of most cameras, with picture perfect 16:9 wide-angle viewing. This expanded field of view offers a better picture while monitoring larger and distant areas with ease and precision.
Vandal Proof Camera Mounts

Night Owl AHD 720p cameras come equipped with a 3-axis vandal-proof mounting bracket. The cable runs directly through the center of the bracket into the wall or ceiling, preventing exposure that could attract potential intruders.
